Where Would You Live

 

          If I had to live the rest of my life in a place that I’ve never lived in before, I want to live in very strange place.  Sometimes I wish I want to live in somewhere that is no one who I already knew; so the strange place’s specific means that there is no such person who I know.   Therefore, If it’s possible, I want to live on the road.  For example, I want to live in Thailand for a while, and then I want to move to the other country such as India, Cambodia, or Europe constantly.  I just want to live by travel, but I know that it’s not only impossible, but also it has to give up many things.  It’s just my ideal life.

       If I could uninvent something, I would uninvent every weapon. When I read this topic, I thought it’s very hard topic to me because everything that are invented has reason to be invented. All of things that are invented were invented to make good environment for human. Meanwhile, I found one thing that not useful for all of us. That is weapon. First of all, weapon only causes constant fight. Even if there are reasons to protect something, it also someone will be attacked from them; therefore, it is not protect anymore. Secondly, making weapon takes a lot of money. The same cost for making weapon could help people who are being hunger. Without weapon, we don’t need to be worry about fight, and war each other. I think, weapon has negative reason only. If I could uninvent something, I’m going to uninvent weapon without any hesitation! Right away!

Ideal Job to Me

What would be my dream job?

    If I could choose my ideal job, I want to work at NGO.  NGO is an abbreviation of ‘Non Government Organization.’  There are many and various NGO organizations such as UNICEF, World Vision, or Green Peace.  NGO has many different kinds.  It could be about against war, save the environment, or save the animal. 
    For me, I’m interested in fair of opportunities.  I want to deliver opportunities to children who haven’t gotten the opportunities same as other children; moreover, I want to help to make their environment to safe. 
    If I want to work at NGO, I should have lots of knowledge; besides, it required basically speak English well, and other languages are optional.  Although speak English is very important to get every job, especially to work at NGO, its necessary.
    Even though I want to work at NGO, my parents not really like that; because, it is not related with earning money.  I have to earn money to care of my parents, at least to prepare emergency to them; therefore, it’s very hard problem.
    As a result, if I could not worry about those things, I want to work at NGO as I’ve dreamed.

    Hi guys.  I'm Hyunju LEE.  As you can guess I'm from Korea.  My name's pronunciation is hard I know.  Some people might not pronounce my name.  Don't worry I have English name too :)  My English name is Emily.  You can call me Emily :)  I'm so happy to meet you guys :)
    I did already two semesters before, but I think this fall semester's students seem are more active.  I came here this February, so I've been here for 6 months.  The reason that I came here is for English.  More specific reason is to speak English.  Maybe you guys also have similar reason like me :)  haha
    I love sleep.  It's my problem too :(  I want to change my sleeping habit to be early bird.  So please remind me if I’m late class. ;)  And I like reading everything.  Especially I like to read mystery books and Onepiece.  (The Onepiece is Japanese famous comic book)
    What's your plan for this weekend with small tiny holiday?  I already have two presentation for next week ;p  So I'm going to prepare them.  How cool!  Isn't it? :'(  Hope you guys have a good holiday for me.

Superpower

   If I could have any superpower, actually I also want to have power to stop time.  But this power was already chosen by Bonnie.  So, I would choose ability to never gain weight even though I eat all I want.  I love to eat; also there are so many delicious and awesome foods in the world!  How can I forgive the foods?  Sometimes I’m really sad when I have to forgive the foods for diet.  Besides I’m so easy to get fat.  So, if I want to eat all I want, I should exercise more than 1 hour if I want to maintain weight.  If I have this ability, I might never mind when I eat!  Do you think this ability is too small? Or do you think you already have this ability?  How lucky people you are!  However, for me this ability is really needed and my wish. 

What Am I Looking Forward to

I'm Looking Forward to My Mother

     I’m looking forward to many things in August.  The best one of them is that my mother will come here for a one month.  Even though my other family members won’t come here, I’m so excited!  Maybe you guys already can understand how I’m feeling.  Also, my cousin Alex will get married in 4th of August in Chicago.  So, I will go there with my mother and relatives, than I will travel with my mother for a week.  We may go to Grand Canyon, San Diego, and San Francisco.  I’m excited about travel, but I’m more excited about meeting my mother than any other things!  I really want to talk a lot with her, and I’m also looking forward to her real Korean foods!  OMG!  However, I also worry about after she leaves here.  When she leaves here, I might sadder than when I leaved Korea.

What is My Favorite Holiday Food Memory

     In Korea, there are two biggest holidays which are the lunar New Year’s Day and the Korean Thanksgiving Day.  Traditional foods eaten on these days are very similar.  I like the Korean Thanksgiving Day’s food more than New Year’s Day.  We call the Korean Thanksgiving Day as Chuseok.  Chuseok is every August 15^th according to the lunar calendar.  We prepare a lot of food at Chuseok.  They are very various and little different each regions.  By the way, my favorite Chuseok foods are 'Dong grang Thang'(Korean style meat ball), 'Japchae'(Korean style noodles), 'Yakphab'(sweet sticky rice with nuts and dates), and 'Sujeong gwa'(persimmon punch).  I make a Korean style meat ball with all members of my family.  Because, making this meat ball needs many processes.  I like that time, even though it’s not easy to make.  Actually, I eat this meat ball more than other my family. ;)  Some Korean traditional foods are not easy to cook.  So, I can eat some kind of food only at Chuseok.  That’s why every after Chuseok I usually get fat.  Anyway, I can meet all of my family and relatives at Chuseok.  We cook together, and spend time.  It’s very warm time, and it can remind us sense of belonging.  I really miss my family, and the foods too!
